A local man is excited to announce that I’ve been awarded and accepted the prestigious Chevening Scholarship after a lengthy and rigorous process out of over 74,000 applications globally (8000+ from Nigeria alone). Now I can’t keep calm because I’ve been #ChosenForChevening
I’ll be studying Development Communications at the University of Reading to help further my work on Media and Information Literacy globally. For the past 4 years I’ve been supporting international organisations to build effective MIL policies, programmes and strategies especially targeted at youth inclusivity and I’m excited at this opportunity to scale. Those who know me know that this has been a long time dream of mine and I’m grateful that I get the chance to make you all proud of the person I’m becoming!
This wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support of my mum, my god mum (Ayo Salvy), my amazing family and Duchess Joy Chiadika and boss Obi Asika
I especially want to thank UNESCO for providing me the platform to help advocate for youth inclusion and engagement in MIL globally especially Alton Grizzle, Guy Berger and Marco Xu (at the HQ) including Olusola Macaulay, Yachat Lamah-Nuhu (at the UNESCO Regional Office Abuja), Alexandre Le Voci Sayad (ISC), Dr. Suraj Olunifesi and Dr. Chido Onumah .
To my @MIL MIL Alliance Youth Committee Family, we started a good legacy that will survive beyond us and thank you for believing in me and supporting to see the Youth Committee dream materialize.
Finally, God hears! The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases for great is His faithfulness!
Thank you UK in Nigeria and Chevening Awards (FCDO) for this prestigious opportunity and as DHC Ben Llewelyn Jones said… let’s go make impact!
